I AM MORE SCAR THAN SKIN

I am more scar than skin
Only because I was born black
I was born with the motive of fighting for everything
Against oppression,money,power, freedom among others even against my fellow man
What a just course
I am not a warrior neither am I a butcher
Intentionally or accidentally
I am more scar than skin
Just like the leopard can't erase their spot
My scars are forever

Scars that portrays innocence
Scars that portrays integrity
Scars that portray loyalty
Scars that portray "NO for NO"
I was just Nine
Only Nine
When my dreams were arrowed with sorrow and pain
When I became a hunter and also a prey
I had a gun and a mighty heart
Through everything
My scars are more loyal to stay with me forever

My mind carved memories
I could not afford to hide the truth
I rather have my temple bruised with scars
Just to beat injustice at its own game
And forge ahead to show how beautiful my scar is
Our bodies are home to cut and bruises
An African parent rather uses a rod for correction rather than correct ones flaws in love
Masters would rather have their slaves in chains than have them in Unison
And we are still of the thought that conflict is the only way to being free.
