RELATIONSHIP: BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MOTHER?
Stares!
At first, I was wondering the reason for the stares. It looked as if we had just committed a crime, and were paraded across the street with our bloodied face. The latest criminals in town. If you had seen those stares yourself, you would be tempted to think they just saw aliens.🙄
But do we look like one from another planet, just because we carried our babies? Is there a hidden guide that stipulates that only our wives are permitted to back our babies, and for the men, it is a TABOO. Or that the women can only go to the market, while the men sits at home, with legs crossed, and eyes glued to the television screen, even when they are available and free. Hmm!
I went to visit one of my mentors Bright U. Nkwocha, and because his wife was busy doing some things at home, he had to lovingly support his wife that day by wearing the baby using a baby carrier to where we were going😍. While we walked past the market, we were greeted with popped out eyes oh, like we were the latest commodity in town.😳😳
Then it hits me.
Were they actually hoping that this can be replicated in their homes? Do they pray to have such kinds of husbands who could be this helpful and caring but is unable due to a tradition or culture that has laid down rules which are unfavorable and their hands are tied? Are they really tied? Who created such rules?
Not forgetting that even the men were among-st the onlookers group.😎( I like trouble abi)
As you know, I am not here to tell you which is right or wrong, just do what works for you to have a FRUITFUL and ROBUST relationship. Remember those key words- Fruitful and Robust! You can insert spices like these 😋, into your relationship. Get those rigid laws out, and let it flow. Na partnership. Blending into one, and not one inflexible directive that have to be OBEYED if it is not working.💁♂️
As my friend would say, COMMUNICATE with each other. Reach a compromise if necessary. Men, bikonu, if you are free, and the bed is not fully arranged, DO IT. It's for both of you shey?🏃♂️🏃♂️
